Events in Raahe

City events, concerts and other events are canceled. In addition, visits and excursions of schools and preschools are canceled.

Day-care centers and schools

The kindergartens are closed if possible and fees for absences are refunded to clients. Those parents who are able to keep their children at home are encouraged to do so. Early childhood education is still provided to a targeted group. The group includes e.g. children, whose parents work in areas critical to the functioning of society. Preschool education for 6-year-olds will be organised normally.

All schools are closed from 18 March to 13 May. There is no contact teaching at schools. Teaching moves on to distance learning. However, contact lessons are provided for children in grades 1-3 of basic education whose parents work in areas critical to the functioning of society. In addition, there is an exception for contacting pupils with special needs.

School's principals and teachers will inform the students and their caretakers via the Wilma system.

Protect risk groups

It is very important to protect those who are at risk. Therefore, you must avoid close contact with risk groups. The risk groups include elderly people and people with a primary disease. People over 70 years are encouraged to stay home for voluntary quarantine.
