Processing of personal data
The EU General Data Protection Regulation has been applied to the processing of personal data since 25 May 2018. The regulation requires transparency from the processing of personal data and sets an obligation to provide information. Data subjects are informed about the processing of personal data through privacy statements.
The Town of Raahe complies with filing plans and the associated storage periods in the processing of personal data. Information regarding storage periods and other processing is derived from official instructions, laws and regulations. Personal data is processed only to the extent necessary and for the intended purpose. The town personnel conduct an annual data protection test that must be passed successfully. The town also has a data protection and security policy.
A cookie is a small text file that the Internet browser stores on the user’s device. Cookies can be used to collect so-called tracking information used to develop the site to better meet user needs and ensure technical functionality.
The site uses the Google Analytics application to collect tracking information. We use it to collect information about, for example, the most popular pages, the browser versions used, the country of origin of the visits as well as at what time and for how long the pages were visited. The information collected through cookies is not used to identify an individual user.
Privacy statements and requests for information
Privacy statements are available in Finnish on the Town of Raahe’s website and more information about them can be obtained from the contact person of each filing system. The privacy statement explains how and for what purpose personal data is used.
Data subjects can file a request for information or require that their data be corrected. The registry office of the Town of Raahe should be contacted in such situations.
