Pekanpäivät heritage festival 30 June–4 Jul 2021

  • This year, the traditional heritage festival, which combines culture, entertainment and sport, will be mainly organised by streaming.

Pooki Flakkaa – Raahe Maritime Festival 12–17 July 2021

  • The week that celebrates Raahe is filled with the splendour of the old seaside town and the excitement of old-time market fairs. This year’s programme will be staggered and arranged from Monday to Saturday.

Raahe Jazz on the Beach 29–31 July 2021

  • This alluring festival brings people together to enjoy the sea and music during the last weekend of July.

Night of the Arts 20 August 2021

  • The Night of the Arts is a celebration of culture! Actors, musicians, reciters, dancers, artists and artisans will perform and entertain people throughout the town.

Raahe Pimiät Festival 3–4 September 2021

  • This dusky festival of early autumn provides activities, entertainment and enchanting autumn atmosphere for the whole family around the Rantatori and Härkätori squares.

Learn about the fascinating past and present of Raahe on guided tours

With a local guide, you can learn about the colourful history of Raahe on foot or from the comfortable confines of a bus. You can visit the idyllic Old Town and experience the life of local residents, sailors, craftsmen and upper-class folk from olden days. The stories you will hear cover everything from unrequited love and devious mischief to truly horrifying events.

  • Come and explore the Old Town of Raahe on the Old Raahe tours held on Tuesdays in July! The tour is provided in Finnish.

    • Tour schedule: 6 July, 13 July, 20 July, 27 July 2021 at 5 pm Departure location: Myhrberg Park, Rantakatu 36, Raahe.

The unique nature and stress-free environment lure visitors to enjoy themselves in the compact urban archipelago

For centuries, recreation in marine nature and the archipelago has been part of the summer of people in Raahe. Now you can explore the Raahe archipelago, selected as the top outdoor destination in 2016, on boats with capacity for 12 persons. Spend a lovely summer day on the beach on Tasku Island, learn about the unique nature shaped by post-glacial rebound on the nature trail on Iso-Kraaseli Island or enjoy the peace and quiet on the rocky shores of Kalla Island. The trip to these islands only takes about 20 minutes. Explore the archipelago on a cruise or go on an Island Hopping tour where you will visit three islands. You will also see historical daymarks and new lighthouses during the excursion.

  • All cruises and transports depart from the pier of the Packhouse Museum, Rantakatu 33, Raahe.
  • Please sign up for all transports no later than two hours before departure!

Experience the treasures of the oldest local history museum in Finland

The diverse collection of the oldest local history museum in Finland provides you with the opportunity to delve deep into the fascinating past of Raahe from the prehistoric period through the Age of Sail to the industrial period.

  • The Packhouse Museum, a.k.a. the Maritime Museum, and the Crown Granary Museum will be open starting from 1 June as follows: Mon–Fri 11 am–5 pm, Sat–Sun 12 noon–4 pm. Admission is free on Saturdays.

  • The Shipowner’s Home on the second floor of the Sovelius House and the Old Pharmacy will open their doors to the public between 30 June and 8 August. The opening hours are Mon–Fri 11 am–5 pm, Sat–Sun 12 noon–4 pm and admission is free.

  • Please note! This summer 2021, the Shipowner’s home can be visited by reservation only.
