School health care

Health care for pupils and students is provided by the Joint Municipal Authority of Wellbeing in Raahe District.

School and student health care is part of student welfare, which refers to taking care of the student’s physical, mental and social well-being as well as activities increasing the prerequisites for them. Pupils’ well-being and health are monitored through individual health examinations and plan. The school nurse meets the child and guardian before the start of school at the child’s 6-year examination. Comprehensive school pupils are subject to annual health examinations. Three of the examinations are carried our as an extensive examination (grade 1, grade 5 and grade 8–9). If necessary, it is possible to see the nurse without an appointment.
